Camping Trailer Hook-up For Self Tow

If you've chosen the self tow option, the following images will help you to visualize what you need in order to make sure you have everything you need well before you show up to pick up the trailer.

Some key points:

1. Our trailer ball hitch assembly is free to use. You simply need a trailer hitch receiver assembly installed on your vehicle that will accept a 2 1/16" square bar. (First image)

2. If you have your own assembly, you will need a 2 5"16" ball and it must be rated for up to 10,000 lbs trailer weight and 1000lbs tongue weight for safest transportation. Set your ball height to around 21" at the top. See images.

3. A 7-pin connector is mandatory in order to tow as there are electric brakes installed on the travel trailer. See images for details.

4. It is strongly recommended that you take advantage of the equalizer bar set up. It helps tremendously with stabilization and smoothness of ride. See images.

5. All attachments have safety pins or other safety mechanisms and when set up properly is satisfactorily redundant. You will be instructed on how to ensure these are all in place at your appointed pick up time.
